We are now a registered charity!

We’re please to share the news that Whitfield Together is now a registered charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Our registration number is 1218126, and we were officially recognised on 18 May 2026.

This is a really significant milestone for us. We’ve been working hard to serve the Whitfield and Glossopdale community, through the Food Club, the Kitchen, Lego Club, Cook and Connect, and everything else that happens at the community centre, registered charity status is formal recognition that what we do genuinely benefits people.

So what does it actually mean? In practical terms, it means we’re now held to the highest standards of transparency and governance, with our accounts and activities publicly reported to the Charity Commission. It also means we can access a wider range of grants and funding that’s only available to registered charities, helping us do more for the people who rely on us.

Most importantly, it means donors and funders can have complete confidence that every penny we receive goes towards our charitable purpose: reducing isolation, tackling food insecurity, and building a stronger community right here in Whitfield.

A huge thank you to Danny McLoughlin who guided us expertly and patiently through the process.
