Before you get there
To access the centre you will need to know two codes: one to open the padlock on the gates and a second to open the key safe. You will also need to have your alarm fob with you.
Please make sure you know the codes and have your fob with you before trying to access the building. If you are unsure about any of the codes please contact us before you try to access the centre. If you encounter any problems while at the centre, there are contact numbers on a sign that can be seen through the main door on the right-hand wall.
Opening the Gates
To unlock the gate’s padlock, turn the dials on the padlock to the correct code, and pull the black padlock body away from the silver shackle.
You can decide whether to fully open the gates so that vehicles can enter, or just to leave them unlocked for pedestrian access. Either way, scramble the code on the lock and attach it somewhere on the gates until it’s time to lock up.
The Key Safe
The key safe is attached to the wall to the right of the main blue external door. It contains two keys:
- The key with the blue cap unlocks the blue metal external door to the centre.
- The key with the green cap unlocks the green internal door.
If you have exclusive use of any lockable cupboards or areas of the centre, you will have been provided with a key for those spaces.
To access the key safe:
- Open the weather cover by pulling the tab at the top of the safe towards you. The cover will hinge downwards to reveal the code panel.
- Press down on the switch in the centre of the code panel.
- Enter the code by pressing the small buttons. Each button will click lightly when you have pressed it far enough.
- Turn the knob at the top of the code panel clockwise to unlock the safe. The panel will hinge downwards to give access to the two keys.
- Note that if you have not entered the code correctly, the knob will still turn but the safe will not unlock.
- Once you have the keys, please lock the key safe and close the weather cover to prevent dust or moisture getting inside.
- To lock the safe, return the front panel to the original position, turn the knob clockwise and close the weather cover.
Opening the external door and disabling the alarm
Use the key with the blue cap to unlock the external door. As soon as the door is opened, the alarm will begin to beep.
The alarm panel is on the left wall as you enter through the external door. Touch your alarm fob against the box below the red shield.
The light switch for the lobby is immediately to your left by the exterior door.

Opening the internal door
The key with the green cap will unlock the green internal door.
Locking up
When you have finished at the centre, please reverse this process, scramble the code on the gate padlock and make sure you complete the exit checklist.
